Broom Closet Camp - Samhain 2025

Crone's Camping weekend

Glamping gathering for Women over 45

Oct 30th - Nov 3rd - Lady's Crone Gathering at the Clearing.
Life time lady's over 45 getting together for a long weekend of companionship with like minds. No kids, no worries and no judgement; just a small gathering of older lady's from the Appalachian area enjoy the outdoors, doing some crafts, and enjoying the energy of the season. All backgrounds welcome, the only requirements being open minds, and the desire to lift other women up. Rising tide raises all boats.

I have set aside the weekend of Samhain this year just for the Crones like me to get together and enjoy.  A max limit of 8, there might only be me!  All of the amenities of the The Clearing will be available (See them here) plus, the ability to rent a tent, a camp chair and a cot, comradery of other older "sensitive" lady's during the season of spooky!

This crone hopes to start a local community of older women for support.  Not only for support of our miscellaneous belief systems based around universal energy, but for our lives.  A place to learn from each other, a place we know is held for us when we need it.  Most of us are tough old broads that know we can get the job done when we have too.  All of us would give a hand up to another who might not be asking for it, but could use it.

Base price ticket includes one raised platform area for your tent (two person max), powered individual for tent heaters. One vehicle parking spot. Use of shared bathhouse, small fridge, coffee pot, microwave, firepit with dried wood stock, covered seating area, concrete open air platform, trails to private river access with small stream and, at least this week, a small beach!
Crafts available - water paints, brushes and easels, origami paper, sand jar kits, bead and stones and glue for that amazing wand or walking stick you found, paint by numbers or some rocks, puzzle books and larger puzzle table set up for the group to collectively "pick at".

Animal policy.
Sorry, no pets are allowed due to the nature and proximity of other guests.
Nationally registered Service Animals are always allowed.  PSD is allowed with national group certification OR canine good citizen certification.  A simple ESA is not acceptable without a GCC.  We also accept nationally accredited therapy animal registrations.
We do have active natural wildlife near the camp area including large birds of prey who hunt the river.  We highly recommend you always keep animals close to you and under your watchful eye, especially if the animal is small or colorful.

General Rules
1. All State and local laws apply to guests.  Yes you need a fishing license to fish off the property, there is no hunting on property.
2. No Foraging.  The land is not large enough for everyone to pick a plant.
3. No open flames in the tents.
4. Please sit downwind if you are going to smoke.  Check with your fellow campers if you want to play music  Keep chatting in the tent around down to a minimum.  Someone might be taking a nap, or meditating.  Lots of community area's to chat in.
5. No food or food trash in the tents.  The bathhouse area is large and there is plenty of room for you to keep your food.  The car park area is equally as close if you wish to keep food or food trash in your car.  Trash can is available inside bathhouse.  Food attracts wildlife!  You don't want that in the middle of the night.
6. If you are using the coffee maker, or the micro clean up after yourself!  Soap and a sponge can be found in the bathroom above the utility sink.  The bathhouse will be professionally cleaned before, once during and of course after the event, but lets keep it tidy in-between shall we?
7. Rock Stacking.  Stack to your heart’s content.  The river is no joke here and I guarantee you ever rock in the area gets flipped, moved, and pushed down river every single rain.  The riverbank will completely change shape in any decent storm.    This is not a trickling stream where animals like to hang out and live their lives, it’s a lively and active constantly changing riverbed.
Rock painting to take with you is also encouraged!
