What is a witch? -  A witch is a human being who manipulates external energy to create an effect.
Can anyone be a witch? - Everyone is a witch; in the same way every human being can pick up any writing instrument and draw a tree.  Another person in your culture can look at it, and see a tree.  Witchcraft is the same way.. Some of us are naturally gifted to the art, some of us have to practice, all of us must learn from the ground up.  Just like great painters, we also must find our preferred medium, our greatest love; how and what we work best in.

Suggestion for helping find your "spiritual gifts"
You already know your gifts; maybe you are a writer, or an painter. Maybe you create music or bend metal. There is something your right brain, your creative brain, likes to do. Do that. Magic is intent, how you create art is how you show the world your inner intention. Start doing the art you do in an intentional way. Maybe you take the painting outside, maybe you write about the amazing life you will have in the future, maybe your bend wire into dollar signs (or male members); no judgement here! It'll slowly form into something that is a combination of what you see and read and are drawn too; being expressed in the best possible way for you. There is no wrong way, any more then there is to do art "wrong". If you like candles, maybe get a table candle for your "art" table. Repetition is the key to anything; the more you do it, the more you use the brain folds that are already there, the better the result.

What is in the Catacomb?    The Catacomb is where I keep my curses.  It's not open to search engines or the general public.  I don't just let anyone in there.  It's the only benefit to registration.  As this site or my Facebook grows, I'm sure it will be of more use.  

Philosophy vs Religion - Philosophy is the study of the fundamental nature of knowledge, reality, and existence.  Religion is the worship of a deity.   

People who say that "God" and "universal energy" are the same thing just calling it a different name are just flat out wrong.  
The best example I can give you is a light bulb attached to a light switch.  Witchcraft is walking over and flipping the switch and the light comes on.  Your intent is to turn the light on, you did the thing to activate the intent and the light came on.  You don't prey to the power, you don't thank it, it isn't alive and doesn't have a consciousness.  It just IS.   You used it by flipping a switch.
Sometimes it's a little more complicated than just a flip of a switch.  We need to focus, and to determine our intent.  Think about it and then decide how and when to activate the intent.   Some of us get our brains into the right spot by meditating, or praying to a god.  Maybe we light a certain candle or stand a certain way.  Whatever it is we do to get to that place in our mind that lets us do magic, is an individual and personal thing.  Sometimes it's religion, in my case it is not.  Nothing you see here is based in religion.

Do you curse? -  Magic isn't black and white to me.  It's not right or wrong, it's just balance.  I have been known to throw a curse when I feel we are out of balance.  I also feel sometimes people are put in my way just so I react.  Curses are only effective if there is a balance. The curse is written with an "out" for the object/person of the curse. The objects used to curse are irrelevant.   Example. I had money stolen from me. I cursed my money till it was used for survival (work, rent, payment for honest work, etc). I cursed it to have other effects if you spent it on unnecessary things or your own gain; especially if you were the original thief (ill gotten gain from the toilers pain, is how I wrote it). Basically, the curse ends when the money is used a certain way, so that it doesn't carry on effecting everyone that touch's it.  The money was also cursed to spread itself to all other money stolen and to set off fireworks for ever legal agency in the area to see.  In my world, if there wasn't a balance in the original work, it's ineffective and any effect you are seeing is just the persons natural karma. Perception is everything.

Solitary Verse Group work - In group work you have to stand heavily on ceremony.  Everyone in the room needs to be on the same page at the same time in the same way to really get that power moving in the exact direction.  Weather it's a wiccan circle or a Baptist revival, the intent of the ceremony is the same.   In Solitary work, which is what this site is about, the "ceremony" is whatever you want it to be.  Why would a solitary bother with ceremony or ritual?  Because the human brain is a muscle that gets stronger when you do the same thing in the same way over and over again.  Everything gets easier with reputation.  We light the candle, sit in the place, focus in the certain way so that our brain knows it's time to do the thing.  It can also be alot of fun when you do things your way.  Maybe your happy place is covered in pink unicorns, why not?  If that's what cues your brain to start getting with doing the thing - go pink unicorns. 

Doing it the wrong way - What crap.   If your a consenting adult and not harming yourself or others, there is no wrong way.  Again, this is not religion, there are no rules here.  My Grimoire are my associates, my experiences, knowledge I have gathered or read.  Things I like for no reason or things that occurred to me after years of practice.  It doesn't mean anything here is RIGHT or WRONG.  It just is what I do.  If everyone says Pink candles stand for love, and you HATE pink, don't use pink.  Use whatever color YOU associate with love.  Maybe your Mom's favorite color is bright yellow, maybe your love color is yellow because of that.  There is no one way, there is no wrong way.

"Baby Witch"  - You were born a witch; we all were.  At one point you were both a baby and a witch.  Now, you are an adult, or soon to become one.  You have self awareness, you have self strength and most importantly you are now responsible for your actions.  A "baby", an infant, is NOT responsible for their actions.  

You are new, you are learning, you are awakening to your power, you are all of these things, but mostly you are responsible for your actions!  That makes you an adult in search of knowledge... about yourself, about others, about religions or terms or whatever.  This is ALL of us.  We were all "new", maybe as small children being taught from our parents; maybe at the age of 40 when the internet was new and taught you there were others out there like you; but you're not a "baby".

Familiars  A familiar is a spirt coming to assist or guild on the physical plan and appearing to the recipient as an animal. They are not fed, they are not pets, they don't crap in the woods; they are above nature, they are spirit. They will let you know they are MORE than; in hopes you can perceive their message.

The Earth - I think the Earth is rolling lazily into her next phase. Like a sleeper rolling from one side to the other in the middle of the night. But the night is millenniums long.  Are we the cause of the happening? partially; but like a tiny tick taking a chomp the real question is did we learn enough, get enough nutrition in our souls to survive the rolls?  Time will tell on that one.

Using Body Fluids - I personally don't use waste body fluids.  It's a cast off from my body of substances already used up. I have used tears, but they were shed with purpose, not a cast off of my living system. I have used my own blood, but it was fresh from my finger, a sacrifice not a cast off.

Solar Vs Lunar Energy - Solar radiation includes visible light, ultraviolet light, infrared, radio waves, X-rays, and gamma rays.  The Moon is a huge source of gamma-ray radiation; "a form of electromagnetic radiation (EM) and the highest-energy photons of which we are aware of"; greater than the sun. - Hubblesite.org  "The Moon is an indirect source of gamma radiation, and produces gamma rays through its interaction with cosmic rays. Cosmic rays are a type of high-energy radiation that for the most part is produced outside our Solar System." - Google
Some of these energy waves pass right through the earth, and everything on it.  Some energies are available both day (stronger light waves) and night (much lower reflected light; the light that's strong enough to bounce off the moon and make it back to us)
Personally, who knows what other types of energy comes from either the sun or the "cosmic" rays magnified by the moon?  I know when I do work, and I look to my fire elements and my air elements for help, I do it in the daylight; Water and Earth work are moon related.
