New Moon Meditation February 19 - 21, 2023

I light four candles, for the four directions, as I read my meditation.  Then I write slips of paper with things I want to bring to me or do better than I have done in the last month.  One slip for each direction.  Air for something mental or focus, fire for the drive to do that ignored thing, Water for self care be it emotional or physical, earth for my home, my pets, my "cave".  Then I burn each paper in the candle for that direction.  Blow the candles out each night till the last when I let them burn down.  

The candles are 20 minute menorah candles.  I do the ritual for three days, day before, day during and day after new moon.

​In the dark of the night when the moon hides in light
the earth sits between this witch and her Sheen
left to the dark her powers do stir and light her own path with the future as lure
new beginnings she sees in the edge of her sight, her heart beats fast at this new light
what will come in the following days only the universe can truly say
ground now in the dark of the light and pierce through the earth with smooth delight
First to the moon then to the sun drawing power and love for what is to come
What new thing will you engage on your path and way to the next moon phase
